Kindertransport

Outside the Liverpool train station, this statue caught my eye.

This accompanying plaque told the story of the statue.

There are reminders of WWII all over this city.

They include museums, like the War Room, where the allied leaders planned and ran the war effort. They also include comments from tour guides referring to bomb damage to a structure, or a taxi driver talking about a currently defunct tunnel that had been used as a bomb shelter, or word-of- mouth tales of how citizens would sit on the highest spot in Hampstead Heath and watch the bombs being dropped on London.
