In the Underground or Tube (or subway, as we call it in the U.S.) there are places where musicians can perform and passersby who enjoy the presentation can contribute coins to show their appreciation. In London, these performers are known as buskers, and there are specific locations marked out for them in various stations around town. London Transport maintains a schedule of the different locations and the performers who have signed up to occupy them on different days.
